VIRTUAL GOLDEN FLEECE CIRCUIT ENTRY CONFIRMATION
Thank you for supporting South Cave Scouts by entering the Virtual Golden Fleece Circuit this year. Obviously the country is still in national lockdown and the government guidance is that whilst you can leave your home to exercise this should be limited to once per day and you should not travel outside your local area. With this in mind we are asking that you please do not attempt to walk the normal route unless you are from the local area. We would also ask that you bear in mind the current restrictions in relation to meeting and mixing with other households as detailed below -
You can exercise in a public outdoor place by yourself; with the people you live with; with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one); in a childcare bubble where providing childcare or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household.
How It Works
You can participate in the virtual race from any outdoor location throughout the month of March; you just need to let us know that you covered the distance and how long it took you!
Once you have completed your run, simply email the address below and submit your result.
You’ll need to enter your finish time (in HH:MM:SS format)
You must submit your time by midnight on 1st April.
A Step By Step Guide To Your Virtual Race
You have the entire month of March to participate, take a look at the weather forecast and pick a suitable date to do it.
You may have a better experience if you go for a time of day or day of the week that’s less busy.
Picking a route is all down to personal preference, but make sure you choose one that makes sticking to social distancing easy.
Do not attempt to start and complete the actual route if you are not local to the route. Consider a starting point local to you, if the normal route comes close to where you live. The national lockdown restrictions currently in place make it impossible to enter the area if you do not live there.
Without race day aid stations, you’ll need to think about your hydration and nutrition during the race. Don’t try anything new that you haven’t practiced with in training and make sure you dispose of any litter.
We want to be with you every step of the way, just like it was a real Golden Fleece day. Send a before and after selfie, to our email address or on the Facebook page
Shortly after the participation window closes at the end of March, we will e-mail all finishers with a link to view the results and to confirm that finishers’ certificates and badges have been dispatched. They should arrive 2-3 working days after dispatch.
You will need to be responsible for your own health and safety. Please ensure you practice social distancing and keep it local.
