ICE CREAM AND BEER ARE BACK!!
This year sees the 11th annual outing for our amazing "Sting" 10K race and we'd love for you be part of our wonderful race day occasion!!
This year's race will take place on Sunday 2nd July 2023 at 10am and we'll once again be offering the unrivalled Sting 10K atmosphere and of course, the legendary Sting hills!
You can look forward to:
- Our famous pre-race warmup
- The Sting's amazing carnival atmosphere
- Chip timing for speedy results
- Beer & Ice Cream for all finishers
- A secret new Sting finishers memento which we'll sure you're love (not a vest this year)
For those of you who don't yet know...
Don't be put off by the name!! Yes, it is a challenge, but a very rewarding one 🙂
The event is hosted by Caistor Running Club and is run in and around the lovely Georgian Market town of Caistor. The first 7km is fairly flat and fast with stunning views of the Lincolnshire countryside, with the last 3km taking a much more challenging undulating theme. The finish line is set in the town’s beautiful, historic market place.
There are 3 water stations on the route, at approximately Kms 3, 6.5 & 9. So, even if it's a warm day, there's plenty of chances to hydrate! The water station at 6.5km has the added bonus of Jelly Babies.
Race numbers will be available beforehand at specially arranged pick-up sessions (like speed dating, but all you get is a number) and for those who cannot collect them in advance, there will be the option for collection on the day (it will help a lot if you can collect beforehand).
The legendary warmup is held in the Market Square, and all runners can congregate there, prior to heading down to the start line.
Ample car parking is provided at the Caistor Yarborough School and at the Caistor Sports and Social Club, please follow signs on the day.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
