Information
The 2020 Castleton Show Run is being staged under current COVID-19 guidelines as issued by UK Athletics (full details should be read here).
One of the main issues with normal races is the mass start, so we are adopting a time trial type start, with runners setting off at 10 second intervals.
In order to minimise overtaking we will start the fastest runner first down to the slowest starting last. Runners are allocated a bib number according to start order.
Maximum entry 100
The first runner will be set off at 13.30, so all runners wll be started by 13.50.
If you have run the event before, use a previous result to estimate your time.
If you are new to the event, add about 10% to your 'flat 10k' time!
For 2020, there are a few other changes to the race format:
- The village Show has been cancelled, so the start/finish area has been moved to the gravel parking area at the top of the village.
- There will be no water provided during the run or at the finish (per UK Athletics COVID-19 guidelines)
- There will be no on-the-day results
- There will be no on-the-day prizegiving
