By entering the Riverbank Challenge 10k you agree to the following.
1. Eligibility. The minimum age for the 10k is 15 on the day of the race, in line with UK Athletics rules.
2. Your entry is personal to you. You may not pass your place to anyone else informally. Transfers must be made through the entry system so we know who is on the course. Anyone running under another person's number will be disqualified and may be refused entry in future years.
3. You are responsible for your own fitness to take part. By entering you confirm that you are in good health, have trained appropriately, and are not aware of any medical reason you should not run. If you feel unwell on the day, please don't start.
4. Medical information. Please complete the medical details on your entry honestly, including any condition or medication our first aid team would need to know about. This information is held securely and shared only with our medical provider.
5. Race numbers. Your number must be worn on the front of your vest, unfolded and unaltered, and be visible at all times. The timing chip is attached to the back of the number — please don't remove or bend it.
6. On the course. Follow the instructions of marshals, police and race officials at all times. Marshals direct runners; they do not control traffic. [Headphones: bone-conducting only. No dogs, bicycles, or buggies on the 10k course.
7. Cut-off. The course closes 2 hours and 30 minutes after the start. Runners still out at that point may be asked to move to the footpath and will not receive a recorded time.
8. Cancellation or changes by us. We may alter the route, delay the start, or cancel the event for reasons of safety, weather, or circumstances beyond our control, including instructions from the police or landowner. See our refund policy for what happens in that case.
9. Photography. Photographs and video are taken at the event, including a live finish-line stream, and may be used to promote the race and Goole Viking Striders. Tell us at enquiries@riverbankchallenge.co.uk if you'd rather not appear.
10. Your data. We collect your details to run the race safely. They are shared with our timing provider, Sports Timing Solutions, for results, and with England Athletics for affiliated entries and results submission. We do not sell your details or pass them to sponsors. Results, including your name, club, category and time, are published online and may be submitted to Power of 10 and Run Britain.
11. Liability. You take part at your own risk. So far as the law allows, Goole Viking Striders, the organisers, volunteers and landowners accept no liability for injury, loss or damage to person or property arising from taking part, except where caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. The race is organised by Goole Viking Striders and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
