Information
One of the most scenic running events in the UK, the route takes in a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and a long stretch of coastline before finishing at St. Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.
The event is organised by North Tyneside Council and is supported by Start Fitness and Clearly Drinks.
2023's winning times were 31m 02s (male) and 36m 41s (female). The overall course record stands at 30m 26s.
The event uses chip timing and participants will receive their result by text message. Video clips will also be available.
Runners will receive a goody bag with race t-shirt at the finish line.

I understand that I participate completely at my own risk and the organiser will not be responsible for any loss or injury however caused.
Entrants must be over 16 years of age on the day of the race.
Athletes who receive transferred numbers without permission will be disqualified from the race. Both runners will be subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate National Association.
An entrant shall be deemed to have made him/herself/their self, familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.
The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the licence holder is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.’
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued. Places may be deferred at the organiser's discretion. No deferrals will be offered once race packs have been posted. Anyone transferring their number after the closing date will be disqualified. For safety reasons, private transfers are not permitted.
