The Big J Sportive

Information

There are now 4 routes, a Big J 150K , a Big J 100K, a Big J 60K and a mini J 30K.    The routes follow those of the previous legendary Big G event held from the same venue. The longest route takes in the best and hardest climbs in the Yorkshire Wolds including the infamous Hanging Grimston and Acklam which test even the most seasoned cyclist with 7913 ft of climbing. Can you ride them without stopping or climbing off !

The 100K route still takes in some very testing climbs such as Thixendale and Nunburnholme and features 3809 ft of climbing.

By popular demand the 60K route maybe a smaller distance but still features Nunburnholme and 1906 ft of climbing.

The mini J is for the less experienced cyclist who still wants a challenge on a nice route. There are feed stations on both Big J routes where you can replenish with food and water.  The event is being run in aid of top local cyclist Joel Wainman who has recently been diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease.  Joel has been a prominent figure locally and nationally since the age of 17, you may recognise his name as owner of many Strava KOMs !  The club aims to assist Joel and his 2 sons in this difficult period with the now renamed Big J.

We have an official event photographer who will capture as many riders as possible.  Images can be supplied as part of your entry fee however please bear in mind like the rest of us the photographer is volunteering and will do his best to capure as many as possible.
