Information
If this is your first time running The Wobbly then you are very welcome - what year to join us! If you are Occasionally Wobbly then you are very welcome back - it's nice to see you again and what a year to join us! If you are Regularly Wobbly then we are so very chuffed that you have chosen to run with us again - what a year to join us!
No-one really remembers when all this Wobbly carry on began. Some say since that time many moons have waxed and waned, many generations of mayfly have hatched and flown, many Prime Ministers have orated and departed. But we do know that this year is when it all comes to its natural conclusion and we hang up our trails shoes by their elastic laces and jog on.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This year we will be starting the run at 11am. This is for undisclosed reasons that are nothing to do with the organisers reching an age where an afternoon nap is not only desirable but is fast becoming essential.
The race will start on the Village Croft at the start line. We are in intense negotiations with the Bunting Sub-Committee in the Village and hope to have the Croft suitably festooned for the day. Should these fail, one or more of us may hang out our washing for a substitute decorative effect.
Registration will open at 10am. Come and collect your number, eye up the competition, check out everyone's footwear, go for a wee, have a coffee, rub on some deep heat,
Dogs are not allowed to take part. It's not fair, they have extra legs. We know that most of our runners are Very Good Boys and Very Good Girls anyway so we'll be fine.
Please park responsibly if you are bringing a car. If you are getting a lift, please tell the driver to park responsibly. Parking responsibly is the responsibility of everybody. There is a fair bit of on street parking in the village which, if you park repsonsibiy, should be just about enough space for everyone.
No littering on the course or around the village. We have bins in the village and you (probably) have pockets. Anyone spotted dropping litter will be given a Paddington Bear Hard Stare and asked to pick it up, probably.
The route has not been changed. Maps are available on the Facebook page and will be available in the hall. We may ask our young and tech savvy mates to create some sort of electronic gpx thingy as well. The run goes from The Croft, behind the village, out the bottom, along the road, through the field, along the river, up to the church, through the fields, up the hill, past the deserted house, down the field, along the river, through the sheep field, past the bridge, up the hill, along the back of the field and then joins the St Cuthbert's Way to return to the Croft.
