Data Clean - GDPR
When we developed the new Entry Point we wanted to focus on helping our users be GDPR compliant. When you use our entry system you are collecting sensitive information from participants.
"GDPR does not specify retention periods for personal data. Instead, it states that personal data may only be kept in a form that permits identification of the individual for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was processed."
In line with GDPR regulations you are only supposed to keep the data as long as you need it. In our instance this is up until your event/membership has finished. Once your event/memberships have finished then the data should not be needed.
We have designed a facility called Data Clean that lets you anonymise all of the sensitive information held within our system.
How does it work?
1 - You can access the Data Clean service within my details
2 - Within the data clean interface you will be shown all events that have finished
3 - Click the Data Clean button next to the event you wish to data clean
4 - Read the warning and then enter your name you cannot carry on until you have downloaded the data in excel form. (this data is now your responsibility and should be stored in a safe location.
5 - Click the button Click here to perform data clean
6 - You will be prompted once again to clean the data.
Once you have cleaned the data the data will now be anonymised. We intentionally leave the transaction details for accounting purposes along with the name and email address should you need to use the mailing system.
