Deeside to Donside (D2D) Long Distance Adventure Motorcycle Trial
Sunday 24th August 2025 SACU Permit No. TBA
This is not a speed event
You the rider are an ambassador for this new form of
motorcycle sport in Scotland. All eyes will be on us.
Bon Accord Motorcycle Club will organise the Deeside to Donside (D2D) long distance adventure motorcycle trial on Sunday 24th August 2025. It will be held under the National Sporting Code, the Standing Regulations of the SACU and any final instructions that may be issued before the event. This event is open to adult competitors only who full hold a full Category A or A2 motorcycle licence and also an SACU / ACU / or MCUI adult competition licence or trials registration card. This event is permitted by the SACU and is run on a mixture of public road / private land and land owned by FLS Scotland.
An LDAT is a mixture of road riding and off-road riding all while navigating your way around the stunning Aberdeenshire scenery using a roadbook or mobile phone following the route we have set. The winners are determined in the off-road sections where an observer will mark your performance. This year the off road tests will have an A and a B route. The A route will be the harder of the two suitable for experienced off road riders while the B route will be suitable for those of little or no off road riding experience.
While this type of event has long been popular south of the border this is the only the second time such an event has been organised in Scotland. We are still aiming our event at off road novices and riders of dual sport bikes who would like to ride them off road legally. This is a competitive event even though speed does not play a large part in determining the winners. Please read and understand the following regulations which can be found on the Information Page, they are written for your safety and enjoyment of the event.
