Announcement: Bon Accord Motorcycle Club will organise the Deeside to Donside (D2D) long distance adventure motorcycle trial on Sunday 6th October 2024. It will be held under the National Sporting Code, the Standing Regulations of the SACU and any final instructions that may be issued before the event.
Eligibility: Riders must hold a current SACU or ACU Trials licence or obtain a One Event Licence (OEL) with their entry. All bikes and riders must be road legal including tax, insurance and MOT. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to make sure that they comply with this rule. At the organisers discretion bikes with loud exhausts may be subject to a noise test. Any bike found to be making more than 102db will not be allowed to take part. If your insurance does not allow you to take part in competitive events, we would recommend you take our extra competition insurance which will be available at an extra cost in due course.
Machines: The course and route will be suitable for all types of road legal dual sport bikes. N.B. All bikes must be fitted with road legal tyres. Any bike fitted with Enduro or Motocross tyres will not be allowed to start. Riders must wear a road legal crash helmet, boots and gloves. (Off Road boots are recommended). Rider numbers will be supplied at sign on. These must be affixed to your clothing so that the observers can easily read your number.
Entries: Only online entries will be accepted and can be made via this link, www.theentrypoint.co.uk Entry Fee is £80 The start order and times will be published in the week before the event. Entry Limit is 80 riders.
Results & Start Times: Will be published on the club website www.bamcc.co.uk and also our Facebook pages. Results can take a couple of days to publish.
Venue: The start, lunch break and finish will all be in the grounds of the Grampian Transport Museum, Alford, Aberdeenshire. AB33 8AE. Catering will be available all day.
Sign On: All riders must sign on at the organisers tent and get their bikes through scrutineering half an hour before their designated start time.
Start: Riders will start in groups of three at one minute intervals. First three riders away at 09:00. There is space on the entry form to tell us if you want to ride around with your friends.
Route: The route will use public highways and unsurfaced roads including 10 natural off-road sections during which the riders will be marked on performance. A northern loop in the morning will be approximately 60 miles while the afternoon’s southern loop will be approximately 80 miles in length. The half hour lunch break is compulsory. Riders are responsible for carrying enough fuel to complete the course. A refuelling area will be supplied during the lunch break. Please refuel only in this area.
Sensitive Areas: There will be large pink coloured signs at certain sensitive areas advising the riders to slow down or keep noise to a minimum. Failure to comply with these notices will result in exclusion from the trial and may well jeopardise the future of the event.
Time: There will be a time allowance for the Northern Loop and the Southern Loop. The exact time will be given in the Final Instructions before the event. The route will be closed by backmarkers who leave 30 minutes after the last rider. Any rider overtaken by the backmarkers will be asked to retire.
Rider Scoring: In accordance with SACU Standing Regulations TSR 22 B – No Stop Allowed. All off-road sections must be ridden in the specified order.
Route Navigation: There will be NO on-road marking, the onus is on the rider to navigate the route using the roadbook. Off-Road sections will be identifiable to make sure that a rider doesn’t miss any. A 50 mark penalty will be added for each missed off-road section. Pink flags will be used to mark the trail in all off-road sections.
Each rider will be given a coloured punchcard at the start of the day. Marked on the roadbook are various points where punches can be found. Riders are required to punch a hole in the number that matches the number on the punch station. Failure to punch a location will result in a 20 mark penalty per missing station.
Roadbook: Will be made available in both PDF and GPX formats along with the Final Instructions which will be e-mailed to all entrants on Wednesday 2nd October. We recommend that you fit a mobile phone holder or road book holder to your bike.

Sign Off: All riders must sign off whether they finish the trial or not. This ensures that we don’t have the emergency services out looking for you. Once you have signed off you will be given a voucher for a burger and a drink.
Awards: All class winners will receive a trophy. All finishers will receive a finishers award.
Final Instructions: Any final instructions, rider numbers, start times etc. will be e-mailed to you in the week before the event. Please make sure we have your current e-mail address.
