D2D Practice Day
The D2D practice day has been organised especially for riders who have entered the D2D Long Distance Adventure Trial later this year on the 24th of August. The idea behind the practice day is simply is to allow riders to experience the conditions that they will encounter whilst riding in the D2D. This will include off road riding, trials type tests and using their chosen method of route navigation, all in all very much a mini D2D Two routes will be set by the organisers A and B, A will be the more difficult of the two suitable for experienced off roaders and lighter bikes while B will be for novice riders and big adventure bikes. However there is nothing to stop you riding both routes if you fancy it and your skillset allows it. Regardless of route choice through the forest all riders MUST follow their chosen route at all times. The route will be somewhere about 5 miles in length and can be ridden as often as time allows. Anyone observed riding against the direction of the course will be asked to leave the event. Our experienced riders will be in the forest at all times on foot and on bikes and will be easily spotted in their yellow hi-viz vests with our club logo on the back. They have two main purposes on the practice day 1) they are in place for your safety 2) they are all competent off road riders who will happily pass on their knowledge and experience if asked.
To enter the practice day you will need a road legal bike, a competition licence (or a One Event Licence) helmet, boots and most importantly your Order Id Number from your D2D entry e-mail as this event is open only to bona-fide entrants of the D2D. We are limited to just 70 riders due to the compact nature of the venue to ensure the safety of all riders.
