Venue: The start, lunch break and finish will all be in the grounds of Craiglash Quarry, Banchory, Aberdeenshire. AB33 8AE. A road closure will be in place on the unclassified public road that is to the north of the quarry. Despite this riders are advised to take care when entering or exiting the public highway.
Eligibility: Riders must hold a current Category A or A2 motorcycle licence and an SACU or ACU Trials licence or obtain a One Event Licence (OEL) with their entry. If you need one the OEL form can be downloaded from this link. It would be very, very helpful if you could print it out and bring it to sign on fully filled in and signed. All bikes and riders must be road legal including road tax, road insurance and MOT. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to make sure that they comply with this rule. At the organisers discretion bikes with loud exhausts may be subject to a noise test. Any bike found to be making more than 102db will not be allowed to take part.
Route: The route will use closed public highways, public highways, unsurfaced roads including a number of off-road sections and will be around 5 miles in length. The lap can be completed as often as time allows. RIDERS MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTION OF THE COURSE AT ALL TIMES, RIDERS GOING AGAINST THE ROUTE MAY CAUSE HEAD ON COLLISIONS WHICH NO-ONE WANTS!! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION WILL RESULT IN THE RIDER BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE EVENT.
Navigation The route is only e-mailed to the riders in the week preceding the event in the form of a PDF or GPX file. This file can be used with the Rally Book Reader App, loaded into a GPS device or printed in a format that can be used with a motorised or manual roadbook holder. We recommend that you fit a mobile phone holder or road book holder to your bike.
Machines: The course and route will be suitable for all types of road legal dual sport bikes. N.B. All bikes must be fitted with road legal tyres. Any bike fitted with Enduro or Motocross tyres will not be allowed to start. Please consult our list of allowed tyres. If in doubt about the tyres fitted to your bike e-mail us for advice. Riders must wear a road legal crash helmet, boots and gloves. (Off Road boots are recommended).
Entries: Only online entries will be accepted and can be made via this link, www.theentrypoint.co.uk Entry Fee is £30. The entry limit is 70 riders. Any refund of entry fees paid will be made solely at the discretion of the organisers. The organisers reserve the right to retain a part of the entry fee to cover admin and bank charges. Your entry fee does not include the cost of an SACU One Event Licence (+£10). Entries will close when we reach our entry limit number or on the 23rd of May 2025. Any change of the machine that has been entered must be notified to the organisers as soon as possible.
On the Day: All riders must sign on at the organisers tent and get their bikes through scrutineering
Helmet Cameras and Body Worn Cameras Are simply not allowed under SACU rules. Any rider using such devices will be asked to remove them before they are allowed to start the event. Bike mounted cameras are allowed but will be checked for safety by our machine examiners
Start: Riders can start at any time after the designated start time of the event. We will aim to close the course from 3:30pm onwards.
Breakdowns If you breakdown on the route either wait until one of our marshals finds you or phone the emergency number you will be given on the morning of the event.
Sign Off: All riders must sign off whether they finish the trial or not. This ensures that we don’t have the emergency services out looking for you. Just come to the organisers tent and sign in the box on our sheet. Once you have signed off you will be free to head for home.
Final Instructions: Any final instructions, rider numbers, start times etc. will be e-mailed to you in the week before the event. Please make sure we have your current e-mail address and that our communication is not going into your junk mail folder.
