EYXC Runners Gear Up for Welton Race with a Push for Sustainability

Excitement is building among members of the EYXC running community as they prepare for Race 2 of the series, taking place this Sunday (9 November 2025) in Welton.

Alongside the competition, runners can once again look forward to one of the highlights of the EYXC experience — the welcoming post-race refreshment area. The club’s gazebo pop-up style cafe will be set up at the finish line, offering the perfect spot to refuel, chat, and relive the day’s efforts with fellow runners.

However, this year’s setup comes with an important reminder about sustainability. The club is continuing its move away from single-use paper cups and is asking all participants to bring their own reusable cup or mug for post-race refreshments.

“There will be space at the start/finish area in Welton where you can leave your cup ready to use after your run,” organisers explained. “If you want to label it or leave it in a bag, that’s up to you — the key thing is to help us cut down on waste.”

The EYXC team has long championed environmentally conscious practices, and this simple step is another stride toward reducing the league’s environmental footprint.
